OVERVIEW

This website is operated by Authentic Perspectives Counseling & Wellness Center ("APC"). By accessing this site, scheduling an appointment, or purchasing services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the website or services.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of changes.

SECTION 1 - REGISTERED INTERN VS. LICENSED THERAPIST

A registered mental health intern is not the same as a licensed therapist. As a registered intern:

  • Services are provided under supervision of a licensed professional.

  • Clinical work is closely monitored to ensure adherence to ethical and regulatory guidelines.

  • Clients benefit from fresh perspectives, up-to-date knowledge, and affordable services.

For credential-related concerns, please contact hello@authenticperspectivescc.com.

SECTION 2 - PAYMENT POLICY

  • All sessions are self-pay and require payment through an accepted payment method (e.g., cash, credit card, or commercial insurance).

  • If insurance is declined, the client must pay the full session cost.

  • A credit card authorization form must be completed before services begin, allowing APC and La Tanya D. Walker, M.Ed. to charge for sessions and applicable fees.

  • Payments for private pay sessions are collected on the morning of the scheduled session.

Declined Payments & Session Access

  • If a payment is declined before the session, access to the Telehealth platform will be denied until payment is resolved.

  • Clients have a 15-minute grace period to resolve the payment issue. If not resolved, the session is disconnected and considered a no-show or late cancellation, incurring a full session fee.

Insurance Reimbursement

  • We do not bill third-party payers or provide documentation beyond payment receipts.

SECTION 3 - ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD (EHR) SYSTEM

Effective April 2026, APC transitioned from Sessions Health to Healthie for enhanced client management.

  • Healthie will now handle all communication, including cancellations, rescheduling, and document management.

  • Healthie is fully HIPAA-compliant and ensures secure messaging and automated payment processing.

  • Clients are expected to regularly check the client portal for updates.

SECTION 4 - CLIENT PORTAL, SESSIONS & COMMUNICATION

Clients must keep their information current in the client portal.

  • Telehealth sessions will be conducted via Healthie or Zoom.

  • If assistance is needed for password resets, notify us during your next session.

  • All non-emergency communication (billing inquiries, updates) must be handled via the client portal.

Emergency Contacts

For emergencies, do not use email or text. Instead, contact:

🚨 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
🚨 Crisis Hotline of Central Florida: (727) 791-3131
🚨 Mental Health Hotline: 1-800-950-NAMI (6264)
